Support NVCF's Next Chapter of Community Leadership

Some foundations focus on the fumes, we focus on the engine.

Because of tradition and tax law, they grant out just a fraction of their assets each year—even as urgent needs crop up that might merit a different approach than a five percent payout rate.

We do things differently at Napa Valley Community Foundation. In the last decade, we’ve distributed more than $83 million to make our community stronger and more successful, granting 21% of our assets each year on average since 2014. (After the 2017 wildfires, we granted out a whopping 48% of our assets to help our neighbors recover and rebuild.)

At root, we’re here to identify and solve problems for this community, and we’re only able to do so with your ongoing generosity. Please consider adding fuel to our engine again this year with a tax-deductible donation by December 31.

In the months ahead, we plan to launch a new grants program that will support local charities serving our most vulnerable neighbors. The State of California has already cut funding for health and social services nonprofits and the federal government is likely to follow suit in 2025. Shifts in local philanthropy have also reduced available resources in Napa Valley.

Our Board Members and a handful of loyal donors have contributed $200,000 to support the important work of the Foundation this year, so your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to that amount.

There is no alternative fuel source for the Foundation’s engine; no substitute for your moral and financial support; no other means by which we are able to build a more vibrant, successful, and cohesive community. Please give as generously as you can.

With appreciation and best wishes for a joyful holiday season,

Napa Valley Community Foundation
